Video date: April 13, 2026

In this video: Gas prices are not likely to settle for long, and truckers are finding diesel prices are pushing them to the financial brink. Meanwhile, the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit is no longer North America's busiest international crossing. A scaled-down design of the Newark Bay Bridge replacement awaits a builder as a contractor search begins; and Kentucky is about to resume toll collections after three years. Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.

Full description: Gas prices stabilized during the past week, according to the American Automobile Association; however, the price stability is not likely to last as a U.S. blockade begins in the Middle East. Meanwhile, truckers are battling extreme diesel fuel prices as the future begins to look more uncertain for drivers. The Blue Water Bridge has overtaken Detroit's Ambassador Bridge as the top international crossing in North America, and more pressure is coming for the Ambassador Bridge, as the nearby Gordie Howe International Bridge is set to open soon; customs officials from the U.S. and Canada will be joining a coming webinar for the Gordie Howe. Meanwhile, it has been three years since Kentucky pursued overdue and unpaid toll notices, but that is about to change on May 1.
