TxTag is no longer issued. New transponders will be handled by the Harris County Toll Road Authority. New tags will be HCTRA's EZ Tag.
TxTag may still be used on all toll roads in Texas. It is also interoperable in Oklahoma and Kansas.
TollTag is issued by the North Texas Tollway Authority, and it was originally designed for use by local drivers and commuters using the toll roads of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
TollTag, which is spelled as a single word, should not be confused with Louisiana's Toll Tag, which is issued by the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.
The NTTA TollTag is interoperable with all of Texas' toll roads, as well as systems across Oklahoma, Kansas and, more recently, Florida and Colorado.
