In this video: Florida's Turnpike is due to close in two locations on two separate nights this week, and in a key area of South Florida. The chance of a toll increase in New Hampshire has not diminished greatly since the governor announced her opposition to an increase. And we look at the earthquake-proofing work about to begin on the Golden Gate Bridge. Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.
Full description: Florida's Turnpike will close Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and possibly Thursday night, in the West Palm Beach area, as a widening project continues across the state. Meanwhile, Governor Ayotte of New Hampshire may be opposed to a toll increase on the state's turnpikes, but that does not change the fact there is a $400-million shortfall in the state's long-range transportation plan that could be helped by a toll increase. The state's DOT will make a determination. Elsewhere, the so-called "Little Golden Gate" has reopened in Arkansas, while its bigger cousin in San Francisco is about to get a new phase of earthquake-proofing work, which will last a decade!
