In this video: Gas prices pushed significantly higher over the past week, as hopes for a faster resolution to the Iran War have faded; meanwhile, higher tolls are coming to New Hampshire, for out-of-state drivers, at least. Maryland suddenly reopens bidding for the second phase of the Key Bridge rebuild project; and those Mother's Day bouquets are a bit more costly this year, by as much as 33-percent! Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.
Full description: The price of gas exploded across the nation during the past week as it became more clear a resolution to the Iran War, and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, was not forthcoming. Meanwhile, those higher gas prices are the reason behind this year's costlier flower bouquet for Mom's big day this Sunday. The price of tolls will be going up in New Hampshire, unless you have a New Hampshire E-ZPass. Ohio has charged an Illinois trucker with grand theft for failing to pay nearly $22-thousand in back tolls. Maryland says the contractor it has used for the Key Bridge rebuild, so far, will not be kept on board for Phase II of the project. All this, plus turnpike closures, in this week's report.
