Full description: A minor correction: We refer to the "Greater New Orleans Causeway Commission". It should be the "Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission". A pair of Florida toll roads are undergoing or about to undergo significant changes. Florida's Turnpike could finally be getting that direct connection to I-95 in South Florida as the latest draft proposal is presented to residents and local officials. In Central Florida, the Polk Parkway's extension is getting and extension of its own, as a second phase of a new connector breaks ground. The Sunshine Skyway's south fishing pier is temporarily and indefinitely closed, but only past the bait shop; we will explain. New Orleans officials running the Pontchartrain Causeway want proposals for a cashless tolling conversion; and Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend.
