In this video: Opposition is growing to a plan to carve up Allegheny Mountain and bypass the Pennsylvlania Turnpike's Allegheny Tunnel. Meanwhile, gas prices still went up over the past week, but not as fast; diesel prices continue trickling downward. Elsewhere, New Jersey is looking to use E-ZPass stickers, and a toll hike plan in New Hampshire suddenly hits a speed bump. Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.
Full description: The opposition is growing and organizating against a plan to carve Allegheny Mountain to build a new bypass for the old tunnels on the Pennsylvania Turnpike; a state representative has a bill pending. New Jersey is hoping to start using E-ZPass stickers, in lieu of the old transponders, in an effort to save as much as $10-million annually on E-ZPass units. Meanwhile, a New Hampshire plan to raise tolls on those without a New Hampshire E-ZPass has been put on hold by the state's House Ways and Means Committee. Gas prices are up again this week, but not nearly as much as last week; diesel continued to get a penny or two cheaper during the week.
