Full description: The Gordie Howe International Bridge officially kicked off operations with a mass grand-opening ceremony Friday; Monday morning witnessed the first traffic to cross the bridge, the opening of which had been delayed by the United States. New York's governor has announced a series of upgrades for the South Grand Island bridges on the Niagara Thruway. Maryland's transportation authority released a photo update on the Key Bridge Rebuild, and Alabama's DOT says they are ready to break ground in October on the new Mobile River Bridge, part of a larger, two-stage effort that will result in a Bayway reconstruction. Meanwhile, gas prices continue rising at a feverish pace, according to the AAA.
