Full description: There have been mixed responses at public meetings to a planned passenger car toll hike in Illinois, the first in over a decade. Public hearings continue through the end of this week. Elsewhere, Pennsylvania has decided against running a pilot program this fall that would have sent toll collection notices via text, saying public opposition and advancing state legislation influenced their decision. The rollout of all-electronic tolling in Richmond is not going as well as expected, with local media reporting billing errors. Florida's Turnpike will again close during the overnights this week, as will Orlando's Beachline Expressway. Finally, Canadian MPs are demanding more clarity on a revenue-sharing deal reached with the U.S. regarding the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, set to open July 27.
