Full description: The cost of gas is heading back up, after falling for several weeks on hopes the Strait of Hormuz would remain open. Florida's Turnpike is closing for northbound travelers passing through Palm Beach County; a short detour will force drivers off the turnpike for about a two-mile stretch. The Gordie Howe International Bridge will be opening at the end of the month, after being delayed for several months because of a political ploy. Alabama has scaled back plans for the river bridge and Bayway project, electing to move forward with a toll bridge, which will finance a Bayway replacement later. Truckers are about to pay tolls again in Rhode Island, but it's still uncertain if the tolls resume in March or July of 2027. There will be no toll hike for out-of-state transponder holders in New Hampshire, at least not yet.
