California Toll Payments

An ongoing scam has been targeting users via text and other phone notifications. This impacts users in the United States, Canada and Europe. The notices claim that a debt is owed for unpaid tolls. The scheme has also included fake notices sent via email.

WARNING!!! These notices can appear authentic, but they often originate from unusual telephone numbers or have strange web addresses.

If you believe you have received a false or fake notice, or you have been the victim of a toll smishing (SMS phishing) scam, please report it to the Federal Trade Commission and/or the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov).
